Housing Authority seeks board members

The Summit Combined Housing Authority is looking for three new advisory board members who care about the locals living and working in the county, and are passionate about the creation and preservation of affordable homes for these locals.
SCHA is looking for dedicated people who can commit to an average of 2-4 hours per month, attending the SCHA board meetings and other related functions. The board also serves as a resource for the organization, providing informed feedback and guidance on current activities and events in the community, and how they affect issues related to local housing. Examples of these issues include property management and real estate, lending and banking, property insurance, title insurance, health and human services, construction activity, recreational opportunities, and more.
The advisory board members shall serve a one-year term. There is no compensation for the position at the recommendation of the Board of Directors. The new period of service will begin on October 27, 2010 and will run through October 26, 2011. The deadline for those interested is 5 p.m., Sept. 27. All letters of interest will be reviewed by the Board of Directors, with the names of those selected announced by Oct. 15.
