Humor is not appropriate on this issue

Ellen Temby, Summit Cove

This letter is in response to Gary Lindstrom’s article on March 14, entitled, “From shopping-challenged teens to captains of industry.”

Mr. Lindstrom, if your article was intended as satire or tongue-in-cheek humor, I missed it (and took it seriously). As such, I hope you are as embarrassed by your narrow-mindedness as I am appalled.

We are a vacation community, and I am proud that we draw all age groups to vacation here. Teen-agers and young adults are exciting, enthusiastic people who have great things to contribute to their world if allowed to do so by adults. So what if they confer as a group to buy ketchup?

If you have an issue with someone, take it directly to the individual or group. Don’t attack them through some inane article you write. I request you apologize to the community you verbally abused in your article both in print and in person as you go about your daily life.
