Hwy. jumper still in critical condition

SUMMIT COUNTY – A man who jumped from an interstate overpass to elude police officers remained in critical condition at a Denver hospital Monday.Brannon McPhearson, 33, was airlifted to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital early Saturday morning for treatment of numerous injuries. McPhearson reportedly leaped from I-70 just above South Adams Avenue, also known as old Highway 9.Silverthorne police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop after spotting McPhearson driving his Jeep down Blue River Parkway without any headlights around 1:15 a.m. Saturday morning. McPhearson didn’t pull over until after climbing the westbound I-70 on-ramp, and jumped over the guardrail from his Jeep’s passenger door.McPhearson, a Frisco resident who worked at Ti Amo Ristorante, had no outstanding arrest warrants and police could only speculate as to why he jumped.
