I-70 reopens at Copper Mountain after Vail Pass crash closure

Update 3:30 p.m. : I-70 has reopened in both directions at Exit 195. Delays remain in the area.

Original post:

CDOT has closed I-70 in both directions at Exit 195 at Copper Mountain and state Highway 91 due to a crash on Vail Pass. There is no estimate for reopening.

CDOT suggests an alternate route from Exit 195, taking CO 91 south to Leadville, then taking US 24 westbound to Minturn and then back on I-70.

There is also a vehicle fire on I-70 eastbound at Exit 228, Georgetown. Traffic is single-lane only, and there are heavy delays.

This story will be updated when more information is available.
