I-70 construction to slow drive to Denver
February 23, 2008
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY ” Work near the Twin Tunnels just east of Idaho Springs will impact Interstate 70 traffic next week, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
On Tuesday, the left lane of eastbound I-70 will be closed, beginning just east of Idaho Springs and continuing the tunnel, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for retaining wall work. Drivers should anticipate slowing through the area.
On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., safety considerations will require periodic traffic stops up to 20 minutes on eastbound I-70 for rock scaling operations above the eastbound tunnel. The Colorado Department of Transportation will monitor traffic volumes and modify the number of stops.
