I-70 traffic stops to take place overnight

SUMMIT COUNTY – Interstate 70 will have intermittent traffic stops between Silverthorne and the Eisenhower Tunnel overnight tonight as power lines are installed across the highway.

Between 10 p.m. today and 5 a.m. Friday, traffic stops of up to 20 minutes will occur. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the east portal of the Eisenhower Tunnel and eastbound traffic will be stopped near the overlook between Frisco and Silverthorne.

Safety requirements will not allow traffic to travel through the area as cel Energy replaces power lines over I-70 near the Dillon-Silverthorne interchange.
