FINAL UPDATE: Storm sparks road closures due to high wind, blowing snow
The snowstorm is expected to bring several inches of snow overnight to Summit County and the I-70 mountain corridor

10:30 p.m.: Interstate 70 eastbound over Vail Pass has reopened.
U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass remained closed for “safety concerns” around 1 a.m., according to CoTrip.org.
Moderate to heavy snow is expected on the I-70 corridor from Vail Pass to the tunnels, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Transportation. Accumulations of up to 17 inches and high winds could affect mountain passes, potentially requiring avalanche mitigation, the news release states.
“If you must be out during blizzard conditions, prepare for the possibility of road closures in impacted areas,” the news release states. “Have an emergency kit with blankets, food, water and batteries.”

Tire chain laws are in effect for commercial vehicles, and traction laws are in effect for passenger vehicles.
8:45 p.m.: Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed over Vail Pass following a crash, according to CoTrip.org.
8:20 p.m.: Residents near Hoosier Pass say visibility is poor on Colorado Highway 9 over Hoosier Pass and that multiple vehicles were stalled.
8 p.m.: U.S. Highway 6 is closed for “safety concerns,” according to CoTrip.org.
7:50 p.m.: Interstate 70 westbound has reopened to traffic, according to CoTrip.org. Both directions are traffic are flowing near the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels, according to traffic cameras in the area.
Colorado Highway 9 is still experiencing a lane closure following a crash near Swan Mountain Road.
Dillon Dam road remains closed due to weather, according to a Summit County Alert notification.
7:30 p.m.: A snowstorm has led to highway closures in the Colorado mountains.

Colorado Highway 9 northbound between Breckenridge and Frisco reopened around 7:30 p.m. after public safety officials cleared a crash near Swan Mountain Road, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. A lane closure is still in place, which may affect traffic in the area.
