11:59 p.m.: Interstate 70 reopened to the public.
5:30 p.m.: Interstate 70 westbound remains shut down for “safety concerns” following multiple slide-offs, crashes and stalled vehicles as a winter storm warning remains in effect until Tuesday at 5 a.m.
Traffic is being routed through Dillon and Silverthorne via detours, causing congestion on Colorado Highway 9 and U.S. Highway 6 through town.
There are currently no accidents listed on CoTrip.org prompting the current closure, but traffic cameras show heavy, bumper-to-bumper traffic on the interstate all the way from Frisco to the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels.
Visit CoTrip.org for the latest traffic information and Weather.gov/bou for the latest weather alerts.
4 p.m.: Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed at Exits 203 at Frisco, and Exit 205, Silverthorne, due to safety concerns, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
2:45 p.m.: Traffic is bumper to bumper on Interstate 70 between Silverthorne and the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial tunnels as holiday travel and a snowstorm collide in Colorado’s High Country.
There are no closures in place currently on I-70 between the High Country and Front Range, according to CoTrip.org, but eastbound lanes of the interstate are experiencing heavy traffic.
Traffic is being metered at the tunnel, causing drivers to stop until traffic through the tunnels and east of the tunnels eases. Hazmat vehicles are also being staged at the tunnels, causing delays at the top of the hour so trucks can travel through the tunnels safely.
US Highway 6 has been closed over Loveland Pass due to safety concerns after an avalanche went across the roadway and buried a vehicle on Friday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation warned travelers and Front Range residents of the likelihood for dangerous conditions, heavy traffic and extended delays ahead of the snowstorm and holiday, urging drivers to use caution and avoid the mountains due to the storm and its impacts on travel.

Up to 6 inches of new snow is expected to accumulate through Tuesday morning, according to a winter weather warning issued for much of Colorado’s mountains.
Traction and tire chain laws are in effect resulting in fines for any violators, especially those that cause traffic jams. For more information, visit CDOT.gov/travel/winter-driving/tractionlaw

8 a.m.: U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass remains closed Monday morning, Feb. 17, due to adverse conditions.
Interstate 70 eastbound was closed for more than an hour, but reopened around 9:30 a.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
