Ice Melt parade held today

DILLON – The 21st annual Ice Melt Contest is under way with $2 tickets for guessing when the official ice melt device will break into the now-frozen waters of the Dillon Reservoir. Tickets are available from local banks, Rotarians or online at http://www.dillonicemelt.com. At 11 a.m. today in the Dillon Town Hall parking lot the 2006 Rotary Ice Princess will be crowned followed by a parade down Lake Dillon Drive to the Dillon Marina. The official ice melt device will then be launched onto the lake via hovercraft.The winning guess wins $2,000. The two runners-up will get $750 and $500 respectively. Tickets must be turned in to a Rotarian by April 24.
