Ice Melt Parade Saturday


DILLON – The 21st annual Ice Melt Contest is under way with $2 tickets available at local banks, Rotarians or at to guess when the official ice melt device will break into the now-frozen waters of the Dillon Reservoir. At 11 a.m. Saturday the 2006 Rotary Ice Princess will be crowed in the Dillon Town Hall parking lot, followed by a parade down Lake Dillon Drive to the Dillon Marina. The official ice melt device will then be launched onto the lake via hovercraft.The winning guess wins $2,000, the next runners-up will get $750 and $500 respectively. Tickets must be turned in to a Rotarian by April 24.
