If only half of the mountain is open, lift tickets should be half-price

I read this week about the argument over senior lift ticket prices. Here is another take on lift ticket prices.

In England, if you buy half a pound of potatoes, you pay for half of a pound, not a full pound. You pay for what you get.

Likewise, when only half of a resort is open, like Breckenridge in November and Keystone this week, lift ticket prices should be half-price.

We have enjoyed the Summit Daily News all week, especially the April Fools’ edition and the story about the proposal that inmates pay for their incarceration.

Editor’s note: The story about inmates possibly paying for their stay at the Summit County Jail, a

proposal Sheriff Joe Morales put before the county commissioners, is true, not a joke.
