In Rich Mayfield we trust? A reaction to which God we trust

Rich, Rich, Rich. Normally, we avoid reading your opinion column because it has the tendency to raise our blood pressures. But this one I was led to read by our God, we trust. (See Rich Mayfield column, Summit Daily News, April 19.)

First of all, God does not rejoice in the drowning of the soldiers in the Red Sea, but he did part the Red Sea and put it back in place.

God did warn Pharaoh that what he did to the Jews would be a curse upon his own people. Women were made from Adam’s rib, so that we can walk beside you not behind. God looks upon adulterers and homosexuals in the same sense.

As you know, we relate to God as our Father. Maybe some of the women you know have to be the mother and the father. But we think that when you referred to God as “she,” it shows disrespect to him.

Anyway, Monday night, as we were getting ready for bed, God gave us a verse from the Bible to share with Summit Daily News readers:

“Don’t let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the evil power of this world, and not from Christ.” – Colossians 2:8
