In the heart of it all

The long weekend is upon us and locals and visitors alike are enjoying the warm days, cool nights and varied activities in the very center of town. Today’s special home is in position to take every advantage of its mainstream location just a stone’s throw from Main Street in Breckenridge. The four bedroom, five bath home sits on Watson Avenue looking at the Breckenridge Ski Resort and the gondola, with the Blue River rushing past it. Offered at $2,995,000 this home is waiting for its first occupants.

The home has a small area outside for visitor parking, as well as a one car detached garage. The front entry opens into a mud area with double coat closets. To the right, a bedroom suite enjoys an adjacent bath with gorgeous tile with a contemporary flavor, and a copper vessel sink. This suite enjoys a private exterior entrance.

Straight ahead, there are two bedroom suites. Each takes advantage of the mountain vistas, as well as the river location. One enjoys an ensuite bath with cherry cabinetry and twin porcelain sinks. Details here, as throughout the home, are a striking combination of traditional cherry and walnut cabinets, and a modern touch with glass and ceramic tile details which add a thoroughly refreshing edge. The other bedroom on this level boasts a glass and ceramic tile- faced fireplace with a mirrored firebox. Matching tile trims the luxurious bath. Tooled leather has been applied to the lower half of the detail wall in a rich burgundy.

Stairs up from the main level demonstrate more of the fabulous detail in the home, with black iron railings punctuated with copper aspen leaves. The stairway leads to the main living area of the home, which takes advantage of the top floor view. One wall of the space is glass which leads out to a spacious deck with south and west exposure. The deck is the most spectacular part of the location, with direct views of the Ten Mile Range and the Gondola origin, and the sound of the river rushing by. In any season, this is the place to enjoy Happy Hour with a view!

The flooring on this level is wide planked hardwood with handscraped detail. A fireplace with glass tiled fascia centers the space, while the dining area is to the right. Dark wood beam detail highlights the ceiling.

The open kitchen features rich walnut cabinets and classic detail, again with a contemporary edge. The backsplash is done in designer glass which would blend with virtually any color scheme. Leathered granite countertops add elegance. A double copper farmhouse sink takes center stage, with views of Baldy Mountain out the east-facing window. Appliances include Sub Zero refrigerator and refrigerator drawers, Kitchen Aid dishwasher, and a Wolf range with grill.

Carpeted stairs down from the entry level lead to a comfortable family room with another fireplace, this one faced in dry stacked grey and beige stone. The adjacent wet bar has a Sub Zero wine cooler and refrigerator drawers, and a GE microwave. The door here leads out to the most unique feature of the home- a stone patio with firepit which sits right by the river. The spa is nearby, as well, with a direct view of the mountains and river.

Also on this level is a laundry with Affinity washer and dryer and an Asko drying cabinet. A nearby office/ 5th bedroom with spectacular views shares a bath with retro green sinks and accent tiles with the family area. An additional bedroom has another tiled bath.

This home has an excellent floorplan, carefully thought out spaces, and a sophisticated design scheme that belies its historic exterior. If you are longing to be part of Breckenridge’s upcoming heritage, this is the perfect spot to be in the very center of it all!
