Iraq war not being handled effectively

Chris Saunders, Breckenridge

I am writing in regard to the current Iraq situation. While I support President Bush, I do not agree with staying in Iraq just to baby-sit some foreign people who quite possibly do not want or care for freedom or any say so in their life or future. If they do, why don’t they stand up and fight or demand an end to the madness?I agree the former regime was criminal and unjust, but even then there was some stability and law in the area. How can the U.S. military continue to fight a so-called war with an invisible enemy that does not represent any government, especially in a country so remote with little or no border security. It is absurd, illogical, unneeded and certainly very wasteful and expensive in cost and in human terms. I think it is dreadful seeing each day another report on TV how some of America’s finest were blown up by a low-life murderer.Since the U.S. is funding the war, why not take a certain amount of Iraqi oil to cover the cost and also to lower the cost of living in America?I don’t think the situation in Iraq is being handled very well and could be done more effectively.
