Is the left lane the slow lane for dyslexic Colorado drivers?

As a Texan (Houston) owning property in Summit County who is paying a hefty sum for my daughter to attend Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, I read with some amusement the Summit Daily News Web site “poll” on driver competency.

Trust me; the drivers in Houston are far worse than your local granola crunchers.

With respect to Colorado drivers, why is the left lane usually the slowest? Is it altitude-induced highway dyslexia?
