It was all yellow …

And they are off. Thousands of ducks were released from the Maggie Pond with the aid of duck-helpers. The race was delayed 15 minutes because their was a last minute rush on selling ducks.

Between intermittent bursts of rain and wind, The Summit Foundation’s 16th

annual Rubber Duck Races found a window of benign weather on the Blue River Saturday.

Among the thousands of ducks that meandered from the Maggie Pond to the

Riverwalk Center finish line, there was one winner: that belonging to Vicki Donaldson of Silverthorne. Donaldson won a vacation for two to Blackcomb, British Columbia,

courtesy of Copper Mountain Resort. The second-place duck belonged to Breckenridge’s Mike and Linda Hessel, who won a six-person spa from Caldera Spas.

The event is The Summit Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
