James Rode: Let’s teach celibacy in Summit County

I noticed that our tax dollars are paying for all the services that young people want in regards to STD education, treatment and prevention, contraceptives, etc. But nowhere did I read where our Community Care Clinic educates young people on abstinence. Apparently we can teach them how to have “safe sex” but not teach them the safest sex of all: Abstain. Clinical studies have proven that abstaining and/or having sex with one person reduces your STD risks. Surprise! This is something they should be learning from their parents: It seems nowadays parents are willing to let others educate their children and have no input. C’mon parents! Step up and help you children.
