Kudos to Summit Cove Elementary fourth graders for their informative assembly regarding the hazards of Styrofoam. I want the fourth grade class to know that their important message did not fall upon deaf ears.

My daughter Olivia , a kindergartner at Summit Cove, and I were having lunch at Ruby Tuesdays when the server brought out a Styrofoam container for her leftovers. Olivia immediately spoke up, letting the server know right away that that container was made of Styrofoam and informed her that Styrofoam is toxic to people and the environment.” Olivia decided to leave the leftovers because the “Styrofoam chemicals would get into our food.”

Olivia has written a letter to Ruby Tuesdays corporate headquarters asking them to please stop the use of Styrofoam containers and to please “Think Green.”
