Summit Music and Arts invites the community to the “Friday Night Jazz” fundraiser tonight with Christine Robertson on vocals, Len Rhodes on keyboards, Nick Keelan on trombone and other musical guests at Dos Locos Restaurant & Cantina in Keystone.

The evening will feature favorite jazz standards performed by a five-piece jazz combo, with Robertson taking the microphone on some numbers. Robertson has had a versatile musical career, performing in the theater and opera and as a concert soloist across the country. A proud member of the Actors Equity Organization, some of her favorite regional roles include Amalia in “She Loves Me,” the Joseph Jefferson nominee for best musical production (Chicago); Fiona in “Brigadoon”; Maria in “Sound of Music” and Vi in “Footloose.” When not performing, Robertson serves on the voice faculty at Millikin College in Decatur, Ill.

Rhodes received diplomas from the Royal Academy of Music and the London College of Music, with continuing studies in composition at the University of London. His career as pianist, teacher and organist has spanned more than 40 years. In addition to his recent work as musical director and arranger for the Broadway-bound “One Night with Janis Joplin,” he also worked as musical director, arranger and pianist-keyboardist in the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hollywood Theatre production of “Mike Tyson — The Undisputed Truth.”

Keelan is associate professor of trombone at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wis. He teaches tenor and bass trombone, directs the Jazz Workshop and the Lawrence Trombone Ensemble and performs with the Lawrence Faculty Jazz Group and the Lawrence Brass, the faculty brass quintet. Since he joined the faculty in 1985, Keelan has taught trombone, bass trombone, euphonium and tuba; chaired instrumental music education and the Woodwind-Brass-Percussion department; and served as conductor of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band and Jazz Workshop.
