John Fanning: Arrogant and incompetent

No jobs created in August. June and July numbers revised downward. Unemployment rate remains at 9.1 percent. The real rate is above 16 percent. Millions have dropped out and are not looking. Twenty-two million people are unemployed or underemployed. The average duration of unemployment is a record 40 weeks; African American unemployment rate is near 20 percent. The country is in debt up to its eyeballs. Consumer confidence is very low. Eighty percent of the American people think the country is in a recession. The stock market went down over 250 points on Friday.

Mr. Obama says he has a plan to add millions of jobs but he had to go on vacation before telling us what it is. Now back from vacation, he has to present this plan to a joint session of Congress, and both have to haggle over a date and time.

Why couldn’t he have told us the plan before vacation, during vacation, or right after the vacation? Why couldn’t he simply have sent the plan in written format to Congress? Why can’t he let us know the plan now from the Oval Office? Is he still in the campaign mode and be damned those who are suffering? Very scary!

I ask you, can we stand another four years of this arrogance and incompetence?
