Join FDRD for Miner’s Creek restoration

SUMMIT COUNTY ” Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD) invites you to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, by joining them for their first 2007 service project, Forest Restoration Day, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meet at the Miner’s Creek Trailhead (adjacent to the County Commons. Park in trailhead parking lot) at 8:30 for bagels and coffee. Snacks and beverages will be provided at the end of the workday “trail-gate” party.

Volunteers will help restore and rehabilitate the forest in the Miner’s Creek area, including erosion control and closure efforts along the trail. Volunteers should dress for a day outdoors ” bring water, work gloves, layered clothing including long pants, long sleeved shirt, sturdy boots, sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen, rain gear, and insect repellent and lots of enthusiasm!
