July is National Parks and Recreation Month

Join the Breckenridge Recreation Department in celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month in July.

The Recreation Department will offer a variety of programs, camps and events this month for all ages, including trail running races, ice skating classes, fitness classes, outdoor recreation and education programs and camps, hockey leagues, personal training and much more. ‘

Since 1985, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has designated the month of July as National Parks and Recreation Month.

Featured events this July include the Independence 10K Trail Run today, the Breckenridge SK8 Contest on July 12, a special Ice Skating Exhibition July 19 at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena, and specialized youth camps throughout the month.

Also, pass and pro shop sales will take place throughout the month at both the Recreation Center and the Ice Arena.

New this July are four skate park lights that illuminate the Breckenridge Skate Park bowl area nightly from 7-10 p.m.
