Junko Partners play Breckenridge tonight

Chris Lacinak

When and where are you playing in Summit County:? 9 p.m. Tuesday at 320 South Main Street, Breckenridge

Where are you from? New Orleans and New York

Home Base: New Orleans

Musical Style: New Orleans meets Cuba and goes funky funky funky; New Orleans roots with soulful overtones and added electronics, including Theremin and loops.

If you were a tangible item, what would you be? Dance shoes and a heart.

Why we are loved: It’s the strength of the beat and the lovability of Lisette. It is also our ability to bring the spirits when we play, transcending the mundane. We push through the fireball.

How do you keep it fresh? The band has a great chemistry together and has the ability to take the songs beyond the page. We keep all doors open and can walk through at a moments notice.

More info: Junko is the writing collaboration of Chris Lacinak (from New Orleans) and Lisette Santiago (from New York). The writing team has combined Afro Cuban, Brazilian and New Orleans beats into their songs, producing an infectious rhythmic musical style.
