Editor’s Note: Child pornography charges were eventually dismissed.

BRECKENRIDGE – The trial of former Summit County health care CEO Dennis Flint, who’s charged with two felonies regarding child-pornography possession, began early Monday with an all-day jury selection.Flint pleaded not guilty to the charges when he was arrested in March 2009. He’s now being represented by public defender Dana Christiansen, as he already exhausted his personal finances – about $84,000 – on his defense.Because Flint held a prominent position within the community and the publicity surrounding the case, jury selection is expected to be difficult and time consuming. The actual trial won’t likely begin until late this afternoon or Wednesday. It’s scheduled to last a week or more, and a lengthy testimony is predicted. The prosecution is calling Flint’s ex-wife, Dawn Flint, as a witness in the trial.Evidence against Dennis Flint was revealed through a spyware program Dawn Flint installed on two computers before turning the hard drives over to the FBI. The District Attorney’s office is also currently investigating Dawn Flint for forging checks totaling $6,000 under her ex-husband’s name.SDN reporter Robert Allen contributed to this article.
