Special to the Daily A truck belonging to late A-Basin ski patroller Leif Borgeson will be auctioned off at a Saturday fundraiser.

The Keen ‘N’ Kaboodle Fundraiser, benefiting the families of recently passed Summit County residents William Keen and Pamela Eagleson, is scheduled for Saturday.

The event takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the Inn at Keystone and includes music, hors d-oeuvres, a cash bar and a silent auction.

“People have been coming out of the woodwork with items,” organizer Kim Andersen said. “What an amazing community we live in.”

Among the “very generous donations,” Leif Borgeson’s 1996 Ford diesel F-350 truck, given by the Borgeson/Schmidt family. A five-speed, single cab with about 99,000 miles, the truck has a topper and a chip box, and is in good shape. It’s valued at approximately $7,500, but bidding will start at $4,000.

There are over 100 items, including a new iPad 2, an A-Basin ski pass, skis, furniture and gift certificates from all over the community.

“Everything is either brand new or in excellent condition,” Anderson said.

Tickets are available at the door. Silent auction donations will also be accepted at the door.

Adults are $25, kids under 10 are $20. Children under 5 are free.

To test drive the truck before the event, or if you cannot attend but are interested in placing a bid, contact Andersen at or (970) 409-8871.
