Keith Mailander, 44, dies

Keith “Hippy” Mailander of Silverthorne died Sept. 14. He was 44.

He was born March 11, 1966 in Salida to Bob and Kathy Mailander and was married May 2, 1986 in Pueblo to Lorrie Mailander.

Keith spent most of his growing up years in Buena Vista and lived in Summit County for the last 20 years. He loved people and dogs and many times brought them home to feed and shelter.He was a great fisherman, artist, and musician and was greatly loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie, his parents, brothers Kevin (Jody) Mailander and Kris (Jessica) Mailander; nieces Casandra Kessler, Rebecca and Anastasia and nephew Kyle Mailander.

A celebration of his life is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at 31100 Glenview Drive in Buena Vista. Donations may be made in his name to: Summit County Animal Shelter or Habitat for Humanity
