Kevin Broadrick wins Realtor of the Year award for his relationship-focused work and years of volunteering
FRISCO — Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate associate broker Kevin Broadrick has been honored with the Summit Association of Realtors’ 2019 Realtor of the Year award.
Broadrick’s work in real estate began in 2009 with the Summit Association of Realtors, where he worked as the multiple listing service director.
Broadrick said his experience at the nonprofit member organization inspired him to get his real estate license.
“I was doing our technology services and teaching classes,” Broadrick said. “Through that process, I just got to see the real estate board in action and meet a lot of Realtors. There was just a lot of inspiration for me to get in the business.”

In 2013, Broadrick left the Summit Association of Realtors, earned his real estate license and begin working in real estate sales, all while remaining on the association board. He now specializes in residential and commercial real estate in Summit County, Park County and Leadville.
After spending five years on the association board, Broadrick became president of the multiple listing service board.
“With that comes a one-year term of being president and three years being on the executive board,” said Broadrick, who remains on the executive board.
As president, Broadrick said he was exposed to a lot of new technology and worked to strengthen advocacy for homeowners as well as community outreach.
“It’s not a big board compared to others, but it operates on a really high level as far as the service we’re able to provide,” Broadrick said. “It’s been a fun process with them. It’s something that I hope to continue to stay involved with.”
Broadrick also was head of the committee that worked to do a full remodel of the Summit Association of Realtors office in Dillon, which was a three-year project.
“I just happened to lead the committee on that and put a lot of time and effort into it,” Broadrick said. “I think that was something that was a big achievement for the association this year and probably a big factor for why they nominated me.”
Summit Association of Realtors board President Thomas Coolidge said Broadrick’s volunteer work was part of the reason he was selected for the award.
“One of the big contributions is it’s not just about the ethical and membership side of the equation because that can be kind of a good ol’ boys club,” Coolidge said. “You need to have some civic responsibility. Kevin brought forward a great breadth and depth when it came to being the person that we selected for 2019.”
While Broadrick has given back to the community through extensive work and volunteering through the association, his real estate sales style also was recognized as part of the award.
“Just as a main philosophy for how I operate, or how I like to think of the industry that I work in, is it’s really not about properties at all,” Broadrick said. “It’s about the relationships, the people you meet.”
Because real estate is often a person’s largest purchase, Broadrick said he prioritizes trust with his clients.
“It’s really about establishing friendship and trust with clients, and I think that’s what’s served me well in the long run because those people come back for business or tell their friends about me,” Broadrick said. “I focus on relationship building as opposed to focusing on homes and stats and trends. Of course that goes along with the business, and clients expect you to know that, but that’s not what gets you the deals.”
Broadrick attributes his growth as a Realtor to more experienced agents who have served as mentors as well as the association itself, which taught him the big picture of real estate in Summit County.
“I owe so much to them because they’re really committed to our community and our real estate members,” Broadrick said about those he’s worked with at the association.
Broadrick’s clients echo his claims of putting people first.
Tom Rowe purchased two properties through Broadrick, one for business and one for his family’s home.
“He always is quick to respond to emails, texts and calls,” Rowe said. “He always makes you feel like you are his No. 1 priority.”
Rowe also shared how Broadrick helped him find the right people for a large remodel for his business property and called his connections to ask them to take on the project.
“A lot of Realtors probably wouldn’t have gone above and beyond like that,” Rowe said.
Dave Greenberg, branch broker of the Slifer Smith & Frampton Keystone office, oversees Broadrick’s work and said he has known Broadrick since 2008, when he was working at the Summit Association of Realtors.
“You could tell that he could manage a lot of personalities,” Greenberg said. “Imagine working with 700 Summit County real estate brokers. It’s more than herding cats. He did it with ease, and he’s very level-headed.”
Greenberg said Broadrick’s experience working on the backend of the real estate market has given him a competitive edge as a local broker.
“He definitely works harder than most. You have to differentiate yourself from the part-time brokers in our market,” Greenberg said, noting that Broadrick makes himself available on nights, weekends and holidays all while raising his two kids and still partaking in Summit County’s outdoor recreation opportunities. “Somehow, he juggles it all.”
Greenberg said he thinks Broadrick earned the award because of the years of time he’s put back into the community by volunteering with the Summit Association of Realtors as well as other community programs such as community dinners.
The award was presented to Broadrick by last year’s Realtor of the Year winner, Stacy Shelden, who is also a Slifer Smith & Frampton broker associate.
