Kevin Burns: Vote for Dem ‘dream team’: Nicholson, Scanlan, Breakstone

Kevin Burns

I wanted to take the opportunity to implore anyone still undecided to consider voting for the veritable dream team of Jeanne Nicholson for Senate District 16, Christine Scanlan for House District 56 and Beverly Breakstone for Summit County Assessor.

I’ve known Jeanne for several years and she has impressed me with her wide depth of knowledge on a variety of issues – including exploring innovative ways to promote small business – and her unwavering dedication to finding common sense solutions to difficult challenges. I have no doubt once elected she will bring her depth of experience and knowledge to the Legislature and be a strong advocate for Summit County.

Representative Scanlan is also running this year and it’s vital that we send her back as our representative. I’ve personally seen how hard Christine works down at the Capitol, and she has the rare ability to consistently do what’s best for the people she represents without getting bogged down in the party politics too many legislators fall victim to. Christine has already proven herself to be a tireless advocate for the values and interests of Summit County: Let’s send her back to work for us.

Finally, we need to re-elect Beverly Breakstone for assessor. Beverly has proven she knows how to manage the assessor’s office, from finding innovative ways for the office to do more with less to standing firm and making sure that the largest businesses in our county are paying their fair share just like the rest of us. In a time of decreasing county resources, it’s vital we make sure we elect the candidate who best understands how to get the job done. That candidate is Beverly Breakstone.
