Keystone closes for season Sunday

Jane Stebbins

KEYSTONE – Keystone Mountain will close Sunday, the third of Summit County’s four ski areas to close as winter wanes to spring.

According to Assistant Ski Patrol Director Craig Simson, the best bet for great final runs this year is Frenchman, a groomed intermediate trail on Keystone Mountain; and the Dutch and Jackwhacker terrain parks.

“The snow is good in the parks,” Simson said. “And the extensive grooming we’ve done this year has helped maintain the trails on Keystone Mountain until this late in the season.”

Copper Mountain and Breckenridge ski areas closed last weekend. Arapahoe Basin is still open, reporting three inches of new snow Friday morning.
