Keystone to feature ‘Kidtopia Festival’s Ultimate Snow Fort’

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

KEYSTONE – Catching the attention of kids and grown-ups alike, Keystone’s Ultimate Snow Fort celebrates its grand opening Friday. A huge snow sculpture on top of Dercum Mountain, the Ultimate Snow Fort looks like a castle and features a snow dragon, a drawbridge, snow slides, towers for kids to climb, a maze, and a throne carved from ice. Guests with a current lift ticket, season pass, or foot passenger ticket have unlimited access to the fort.

The Ultimate Snow Fort is the signature piece of the new Kidtopia Festival featuring family programming and activities throughout the ski season, much of which is free.

During the Kidtopia festivals, kids can participate in activities including: A glow-stick parade down the mountain; Disco Tubing at the lift-served tubing hill; BBQ night on top of the mountain; a parade in the village led by Keystone’s Mascot Ripperoo; live music; arts and crafts; a glowbug skate night and more. Also, beginning Friday, kids will be able to explore the Ultimate Snow Fort at the top of Dercum Mountain, complete with a snow dragon, drawbridge, and lookout tower. Remaining Kidtopia Upcoming festival dates are March 15-21, and April 1-6.
