Killers front man Brandon Flowers loses voice during concert

MORRISON – A concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater by the Killers has been rescheduled for Sept. 4, promoter Don Strasburg of AEG Live said Friday, a day after front man Brandon Flowers lost his voice and left the stage after two songs.A statement from Universal Music Group, parent company of the group’s record label, said Flowers was recovering from bronchitis and took to the stage against the advice of his personal doctor. The band’s official Web site said only that Flowers was recovering from an illness.”During the second song of the evening his voice just went,” Strasburg said.A sold out crowd of about 9,500 sat through two opening acts, including Hot Hot Heat, before the show was called off. The Killers have had several hits, including “Hot Fuss,” and “Sam’s Town.””We’re coming back to make this (expletive) up tenfold for you,” drummer Ronnie Vanucci told the crowd. “I feel bad, man. I feel like somebody died. But everybody’s good and in good health here, and I’ll see you next time, I guess & I’m really sorry. On behalf of the Killers, we love Denver, and we will be back very soon.”The next date on the Killer’s tour is Sunday in Seattle. Universal Music Group said as of Friday, the music group planned to continue its tour.
