KSMT hosting Turkey Drop as benefit for Advocates

Turkeys will fall from the sky Saturday at KSMT’s Turkey Drop at Silverthorne Subaru. The event, slated from 12-2 p.m., is a benefit for Advocates of Victims of Assault’s food bank. Participants, who will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, must bring non-perishable food items to the car dealership. In return, Lake Dillon Fire Rescue firefighters will lift them high in the air in their ladder bucket. The contestants will be given a frozen turkey and drop it to the bull’s-eye below.The winner – whomever comes closest to the bull’s-eye – of the contest will receive a lodging package for two in New Orleans. Other prizes will include an Aspen getaway with lift tickets and lodging, a full auto detail and other services from the Silverthorne Automotive Group, restaurant certificates, CDs and more. Other prizes will be given to food donors.Spectators are encouraged to help with food and/or cash donations.Portions of the contest will be broadcast live on KSMT at 102.3 or 102.7 FM.
