Housing deals

A developer is offering deals on workforce housing rentals in Silverthorne to get the final available units leased. At Smith Ranch Apartments, off Blue River Parkway, renters can get up to two months free on a one-bedroom unit with a move-in date of April 15. The units are for members of the local workforce who are making between 80% and 120% of the area median income. That equals $68,240 to $102,360 for a single person and $78,000 to $117,000 for a couple.

Cellphone law

Enacted three months ago, Colorado’s hands-free driving law has already boosted distracted driving citations past 2024 totals. The law prohibits drivers from touching or handling a cellphone, even at stop lights and in stopped traffic. It went into effect on Jan. 1, making it illegal to use a mobile device while driving except when using hands-free accessories. Since the law’s introduction, Colorado State Patrol has issued 94 citations to drivers.

Care Clinic

After more than 30 years of serving the central Colorado region, Summit Community Care Clinic has changed its name to Elevated Community Health. According to the nonprofit, all services, locations and care providers remain the same. The rebranding will not affect existing appointments, records or the patient experience.
