Lack of poop bag dispensers not the issue

Dennis Lenahan, Frisco

RE: Dog poo fines are needed (Daily Mail, March 3)Putting poop bag dispensers every 1,000 feet as suggested by one of your readers would not help with the self-centered idiots who refuse to pick up after their dogs. I was walking a dog through Walter Byron Park (Thursday) and was astounded to see a huge pile of doodoo one foot off the path and two feet in front of the poop bag dispenser. Even my dog was disgusted. Regarding fines, I would worry a little bit about the enforcement. As a fastidious cleaner-upper, I almost always have poop bags in my pocket, but the one time I didn’t when my dog dumped, I doubled back towards Byron Park to get one and returned to clean up the scene of the crime. I’m not sure a person who saw my 180-turn after the dump would have believed where I was headed.
