LAPS Dog Terra fundraiser thanks community, volunteers

The eighth Annual LAPS DogTerra fundraiser was held on March 6 hosted by Gold Run Nordic Center/Town of Breckenridge and our wonderful local KSMT, Krystal 93 & Mountain Public Radio, along with the Summit Daily News made sure that the word got out. All the usual fun happened with ski-joring clinics with Louisa Morrissey of Ski jor-N-More, snowshoeing, Frisbee/Chuck-It contests, yummy biscuits from Trail Dog Treats/Nancy Thompson and Zuke’s. Our new flyball and agility clinics with Terena Thomas of Canine Country School were a huge hit, as the humans tried to learn what their mutts already knew. Our volunteers were Deb Oately, Scott Yule, Carolyn Miller, Janet Jacks, June and Norman Prince from Gold Run Nordic and LAPS helpers were Mac Borsina, Chip & Dottie Babbitt, Julie Schreiber, Katherine & Emily Pappas, Anne Francis, Cindy Selle, Nancy Peterson, Emily Lefebvre, Shannon Hering, Abbe Gold, Karen McDonough, Pete Peterson and Cathy Taubman. The LAPS Board (Sherrie Caldwell, Susan O’Brien, Suzie Ver Schure, Dana Wood, Louisa Morrissey and Sally Beerup) were on hand before, during and after, along with all these other wonderful people and made the day really great for all the participants and their furry friends. Thanks! For more information about LAPS, e-mail LAPS@colorado.net or check out our website http://www.summitlaps.com.
