LAPS holds its annual meeting

The League for Animals & People of the Summit held its annual meeting/elections in the animal shelters Rainbow Room on April 2. Kudos to all the current Board for signing up for another year to help the needy pets of Summit County: President Sally Beerup, Vice-President Cristi Eckert, Treasurer Sherrie Caldwell, Secretary Susan O’Brien and Board members Linda Kay Peterson, Bonni Van Buren and Mac Borsina. Special thanks goes out to Barb Cole, who just retired from the Board after 14 years, but whose enthusiasm and dedication will always be an inspiration to the rest of us.We would also like to thank Dr. Gretchen Norton for her very informative power point presentation on common emergencies for dogs and cats, and even though some of it was a bit scary, we appreciate her sharing her expertise and time with us. Subway of Frisco donated some very yummy sandwiches for our meeting, so combined with the goodies that the Board brought, it was almost like dinner and a movie!
