LAPS thanks supporters of Snowshoe with Spot fundraiser
The League for Animals & People of the Summit (LAPS) thanks all of our wonderful volunteers and sponsors who helped make our Snowshoe with Spot fundraiser a lot of fun.
Although our turnout was smaller than some years, everyone enjoyed the small group sociability of all the dogs and their owners.
Our generous sponsors were Steak & Rib, Summit Feed, Mane Design/Janie, Health Massage Center/Shannon, Wal-Mart, Arby’s, Breckenridge BARKery, The Barnyard, Paws & Claws, Breckenridge Hat Co., For Your Paws Only, Abbey’s Coffee, Clint’s Bakery, Cool River Bakery, Playful Paws Pet Care, Wiggle Snacks, town of Breckenridge/Gold Run Nordic Center, Summit County Animal Shelter/Summit County, National Forest Service, KSMT, Krystal 93, High Country Radio, the Independent and the Summit Daily.
Big kudos to AMR Sports and Larry and Pam Wilhite for donating the grand prize snowshoes again this year.
Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t get very far, so good karma goes out to Rick and Barb Cole, Jim Wheeler, Kris Kosnick, Jim and Maggie Cox, Cindi DeAngelo, Chris and Amy Courtney, KJ Hooyman, Andy Kosse, Bruce and Sally Beerup, Sherrie Caldwell and Suzie VerSchure.
DogTerra, a second fundraiser that was a benefit for LAPS and a way to highlight the new dog-friendly Peabody Placer area of the Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge, happened Feb. 29.
It was hilarious just to watch, let alone participate. Hopefully the good people at the Gold Run Nordic Center and the town of Breckenridge will make this an annual affair.
Thank you for a great event, Scott Yule, Brad LaRochell, Susan Padgett, Jim Sanders and Tim Walsh. Sponsors were the town of Breckenridge, Gold Run Nordic Center, Rossignol, Maverick Sports Promotions, Lasergraphics, Susan Padgett, For Your Paws Only, Steak & Rib and Abbey’s Coffee.
Thanks to Bruce Beerup for some great photos during the event. If any of the participants/sponsors would like a photo disk, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Special thanks to Julie Sutor of the Summit Daily’s Pet Scene for the outstanding coverage that LAPS gets for its fundraisers, and also to Daily photographer Brad Odekirk and Independent photographer Mark Fox for their warm and fuzzy “Kodak moments” of the four-legged animals of Summit County.
