Last Frisco community forum tonight at 6

The last of six Frisco community forums to update the town’s comprehensive plan takes place tonight, from 6-8 in the Frisco Day Lodge at the peninsula recreation area. There will be a community dinner and a presentation by speaker Chris Anthony, a former Alaskan extreme skiing champion, veteran of nine World Extreme Skiing Championships and 21 Warren Miller films.

The process to create the Frisco Community Plan has consisted of five different forums that have helped to identify common community values and shared quality of life statements. Each forum addressed different topics and ideas to help create the draft document. At the sixth and final meeting attendees will be presented with a draft of the Frisco Community Plan. Attendees will be able to give their input and comment on the draft plan before it is presented to the Town Council on June 28.

Frisco’s comprehensive plan is an advisory document that identifies the community’s direction for the future. The Town Charter requires the plan to be updated every five years. After the six forums conclude this summer, the final plan will be scheduled for adoption by the Frisco Town Council. Once adopted, the Frisco Community Plan will be formally used to provide direction to elected and appointed officials, community members and staff for the next five years.

For anyone who has been unable to attend the forums, online surveys, video and information on the previous forums can be found at Follow the Frisco Community Forum link under quick-links on the main page.
