Latino nights heat up Frisco

People in Summit County no longer have to worry about cold nights during this winter. Directly from under the Tropic of Cancer, two parties are bringing all the summer heat that is happening in the other part of the continent.

The Latino Night that happens every Sunday at Shag, in Frisco, is one of the reasons for it. The event mixes the best of a typical American party with the greatest of the Latin dancing and rhythm such as salsa, merengue and reggaeton, played by a D.J. or a band. The “caliente” night draws a loyal group of people ready to dance and enjoy six hours of fun and cheap drinks.

It’s certainly a nice place to forget the cultural differences and know more about each other. The party gathers not only Americans, but people from all over the world, especially those who miss their home country.

Beneath all the fun of the music, the event also includes different types of entertainment like beer-pong, pinball, foosball, pool, pool, shuffleboard and Nintendo.

To improve the Latin party style, the same organizers decided to go even deeper into the Latin America culture and provide Brazilian Night. The event happens every Thursday at Shag and mixes a variety of sounds, like American hip hop, Latin rhythms and even some “carioca funk,” a dance and beat music style very popular in Brazil.

According to Clint Jester, Shag owner and organizer of both parties, those nights were created with the goal of “putting together all these groups from Summit County in the same place to have some fun.”

Although everything seems very similar to a common Latin party, the limit age for drinking still is 21 years old.
