Laugh it up for romance
SILVERTHORNE – The husband and wife comedy team of Jeff Harms and Hannah Rockey will perform on Wednesday at the Silverthorne Pavilion for a night of Valentine’s Day comedy.”Six years ago, when the Pavilion programmed the first Valentine’s Day comedy show, it was popular because couples found comedy to be a welcome substitute for the tired formality of roses and chocolate,” said Maggie Butler, Silverthorne Pavilion coordinator. “For many, it’s become tradition and it always sells quickly.”The duo takes on male and female perspectives on romance.
Jeff Harms has been performing comedy since 1979 and is a graduate of the University of Denver. In 1981, Jeff started doing stand-up comedy, and has toured nationally ever since. He has appeared with Roseanne, Louie Anderson, Paula Poundstone, Ellen Degeneres, Robert Klein, Mort Sahl, Sam Kinison and others.
Rockey has been a stand-up comic for nearly a decade in both club and corporate arenas. She has opened for Louie Anderson, Kathleen Madigan and Wendy Leibman. Hannah takes an original and fun view on life and a conversational style with her audience.Attendants should keep in mind that the content of the shows tends to lean on the adult side and may not be appropriate for children.Friday’s show begins at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30.
