Learn about beekeeping Saturday
Come find out how to keep bees for pollination, delicious honey, beeswax and enjoyment without using the standard pesticides and chemicals that conventional beekeepers often use. This class will be an introduction to the topic of backyard beekeeping as well as cover the environmental issues threatening bees. Margael Meister, founder of DenverBee, will also talk about bee races and breeds, disease and pest management, hiving, and high altitude beekeeping. The workshop is part of the High Country Conservation Center’s Green Living Workshops. Please RSVP by calling 668-5703 or email info@highcountryconservation.org. Suggested donation is $10. Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Alpine Earth Center (Alpine Gardens, 998 Blue River Parkway) in Silverthorne.
