Let the people decide

Bob and Cheri DremannFrisco

The purpose of this letter is to voice our concern and opposition to the retail and housing development proposed by Alberta Development and SCM Architects behind the Frisco Safeway and Wal-Mart shopping center. We are owners at the Windwood Townhome complex at 348 W. Main St. While we do not currently reside at this address we frequently stay there on weekends and hope to spend much of our retirement in Frisco. We do not see a need or advantage to additional retail stores in Frisco for the following reasons:We do not want the quaint and welcoming flavor of the community to become an overcrowded, noisy, undesirable town.We believe the town should focus on refurbishing and maintaining Main Street. We believe this is a matter of greed, rather that considering the best interests of the community. We believe the property can be better used as a park and recreation facility for the residents and tourists that visit Frisco. The Silverthorne Factory Stores appear to be struggling and adding more shopping doesn’t seem to be the answer. In conclusion, Frisco is a family community. Watch a child play in the park or a ball game, watch families picnic and play together, enjoy a concert in the park, or just go for some peace and quiet. This is what this land should be about. Is the future of our community an enjoyable mountain retreat for families, friends and tourists or is it a town where every piece of property is developed into concrete and parking lots. Let the people decide. Put this matter on the ballot in November for a true representation.Bob and Cheri DremannFrisco
