Letter was about wars, not presidents

Gerald DobertSummit Cove

I am glad that you at least saw the point of my letter of Jan. 17, as the title you gave it was spot on.There have been several letters critical of the comparisons that I made between presidents Bush and Lincoln. Are they trying to say that both were not Republicans, did not get elected with a minority of the popular vote, or got us into unpopular wars? I believe these to be historical facts and are the only comparisons that I made. Frankly, I cannot think of any more I could have made.I wish these people would read my letter again with the realization that it was about wars and not presidents. There is so much about the current war that we do not know, that I do feel that to make a judgment about it now is a mistake. For instance, do we accept former Iraqi General Georges Sada’s statements that Saddam moved his WMD to Syria just before the invasion? I prefer to wait and see.
