Library Summer Reading Program kicks off

The Summit County Libraries has an exciting summer planned for kids of all ages in Summit County this year! The fun starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8 at the South Branch Library in Breckenridge with Ann Lincoln’s “Yo Ho Ho Pirate Show,” a special program for kids, ages 3-10. The show features juggling, magic and comedy. The fun with Captain Ann will continue at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Main Library in Frisco, and then again that day at 1 p.m. at the North Branch Library in Silverthorne.

For kids 11 and up, the Libraries have a Summer Reading Program for all Middle and High School Students. Kids may pick up their pirate booty bags now at any of the three Summit County Libraries. Once a student has read for at least 8 hours between June 2 and July 29, they will be entered in a drawing for treasures aplenty, which will take place at the Swashbucklin’ Pirate Party July 29. The grand prize this year is an iPod Touch.

Get involved in all that the Summit County Libraries has to offer this summer! Visit the website at; add our Facebook page to your favorites, or simply come by and check us out at any of our three locations.
