Library Travel Slideshow series heads to Greece on Feb. 8

Summit Daily staff report

The Summit County Library Travel Slideshow series will continue on February 8 at the South Branch Library in Breckenridge with “Mt. Olympus to Santorini: Discover Greece in 17 days.”

Visitors will get to join Amanda Day as she recounts tales and shares photographs from her journey to the beautiful Greek isles resting in the Aegean Sea through the rugged mountain landscapes of Greece’s mainland. The event will run from 6-7 p.m. at the Hopefull/Discovery Room in the south branch of the library.

The Travel Slideshow series, sponsored by Friends of the Summit County Libraries, will continue every Thursday until March 29, alternating between the south and north branches of the library in Breckenridge and Silverthorne.

In additional to the Greek adventure, the program has a diverse set of offerings upcoming this season, including “Talking to Ancestors: A Grand Canyon Journey” with Maryann Gaug, “#CantSkipPortugal” with Katie Coakley, “Scandinavian Odyssey: Norway, Lapland & Finland” with Linda and John Mirro, “The Orangutans of Borneo” with Barb Shaw, “Cycling the Coast of Croatia” with Heidi Kumm, and “Going for Gold: The Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver to Jasper” with Jim Whiteley.
