Lighting of Breckenridge slated for Saturday

Breckenridge will light up with holiday cheer Saturday as the town celebrates its Christmas tree lightings with all the seasonal traditions.

The afternoon of festive fun is set to begin with cookies, cocoa and caroling at 4:30 p.m. at the Subway on north Main Street. At 5 p.m., Santa will make an appearance by horse-drawn carriage to lead a procession to the Blue River Plaza. All are welcome to to join in the procession.

At 5:15 the huge tree will be lit at the plaza and Santa will stick around to hold

one-on-one conferences with children about their Christmas lists, a photo opportunity for parents. Santa will be at the Breckenridge Welcome Center from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Afterward everyone is invited to enjoy the many shops and restaurants in Breck for dinner and some Christmas shopping.
