Lisa Middlebrook: T. Antonieta Butler for Summit School Board

Lisa Middlebrook
Breckenridge

As the past president of Upper Blue Elementary PTA, I had the privilege to work with several wonderful parents, including Antonieta Butler. I have known Anto for several years and admired her dedication, not only to the education of our children, but also to our community. Anto’s background in education spans over 18 years, devoting her time to Upper Blue Elementary more recently, plus she also taught high-level science classes in Argentina. She has a charming personality that draws you to her, and you instantly know she is passionate about education and our families in Summit County. Together with her husband, Shawn, they dedicate much of their spare time at Upper Blue, whether eating lunch with their daughter, signing up to help in the classroom or organizing events.

Anto’s work with WIC and several other volunteer positions keeps her in touch with many different people and issues in our area. She has a thirst for knowledge and has attended school board meetings to become more involved. She continues to serve on the UBE PTA Board as well. Anto also brings new ideas to the table and not only provides suggestions but she gives a plan of action and gets the job done. I believe she would make a wonderful addition to our school board. Read more about Anto in the Summit Daily from Oct. 18, and please vote for “T. Antonieta Butler” on Nov. 3.
