Local chefs cook for the cure in memory of Deb Pierce

Local chefs will be showcasing their finest cuisine at the Deb Pierce Memorial Cooking for the Cure event from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Summit County Community Center in Frisco.The first annual Cooking for the Cure was held in April 2005 to help Doug and Deb Pierce during their battle against Deb’s breast cancer. Now the event is back to honor Deb Pierce’s memory and to help support other local patients in need. A portion of the proceeds will also help purchase the digital mammography system for the new hospital to improve the diagnosis of breast cancer.Local chefs will be donating an array of elegant food stations that will be paired with outstanding wines and beers. Silent Auction items will feature a variety of gift certificates for local businesses, lodging packages, chef service for private dinners in your home, resort activities as well as other great items. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased in advance by contacting Angela Cartwright at 262-1482.
