Local team to participate in Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

Local residents Christine Berwyn, Lynn Ryckman and Patty Stretton have organized as the “Summit Ramblers,” and plan to spend a weekend walking to help end breast cancer at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer June 24 and 25 in Denver.Team members will walk between 26 and 40 miles over the two days. Each walker has committed to raising at least $1,800 towards services for Colorado residents affected by breast cancer.Summit Ramblers were inspired to participate by family and friends who are battling cancer. Christine’s father is a cancer survivor, Patty’s husband’s grandmother is a two-time survivor and team friend Kathy Syko is a breast cancer survivor. The team formed because members all knew women battling breast cancer, and wanted to reach out and help those who are uninsured or underinsured. To help the Ramblers reach their fundraising goal, donations may be made on-line at avonwalk.org, by clicking on the donate link and searching the team name: Summit Ramblers.
