Avalanche Information Center issues warning for High Country

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center has issued an avalanche warning for the Vail-Summit zones, as well as for Steamboat, Front Range, Aspen and Gunnison. Heavy snowfall has increased the avalanche danger to high. Avalanche conditions are very dangerous, according to an avalanche center report. Natural and human-triggered avalanches are likely. Some avalanches may be very large and destructive. Backcountry travelers are advised to stay well clear of all avalanche terrain. Avoid traveling on or under steep slopes.
